EPW - Continental musical quarter repeater, going barrels with virgule escapement, 56mm, 18K rose gold OF original consular case with spring-loaded gilt cuvette, KWKS, WED, gilt mvt with openwork engraved foliate scrolled balance cock, s#5703 within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 76.4 dwt (118.8 g). The lever on band at 11 provides lock for pendant, while the lever at 1, shifted toward the pendant will activate music, which will continue to play unless returned to position, which plays one cycle. The watch will play music on the hour, and has exceptionally good musical tone.
CONDITION:
Mvt: GRO, good balance motion, good escapement function, plates show excellent gilding, little oxide on steel components; good repeat function and tone; good musical function with exceptional tone, enhanced by placing on resonant surface; dial has edge roughness and repairs, tiny fracture below center hole; hands fine, mismatched; original case shows medium wear, many MFS, no dents, only minor dings; closure good; bow & pendant original; good domed glass crystal.
